Dear North Hill Parents and Students,

Our theme at North Hill for the 2020-21 school year is “Positivity in Action.”  We have adopted the Positivity Project (https://posproject.org/) this year and will utilize the structure and resources to continue and enhance our focus on the whole child.  We strongly believe the development of character traits serves to enhance our students' education.  While we will continue to focus on high academic expectations and helping each child to discover their talents and passions, we also feel it vital to highlight how we treat one another.  A life of kindness and gratitude is a full life!

A child’s education is a journey and each journey is unique. Our job is to discover what makes each child tick, where their strengths lie, and where we can help them to improve. Everyone here believes every child has potential to do wonderful things. Together with families, we want to help them build on what they know so their future is limitless!  We are proud to work with you in the shared best interest of your child or children. North Hill is a special place with special people... It is going to be a great school year!

We are truly blessed to have wonderful students, staff, and parents.  As the principal of North Hill Elementary School, I am extremely impressed by and proud of the staff, students, parents, and community. In reviewing achievement and perception data, it is evident that we are a high performing school that operates on the guiding question, “Is it good for kids?” I look forward to continuing our work to ensure the continued success of North Hill students. Remember, our home is your home. Please do not hesitate to contact us if there is any way that we can help. I can be reached by email at dmurphy@rochester.k12.mi.us, by phone at 248-726-4300, or just stop in!

"No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted."  -Aesop
